About

The Green on McLean community garden is being created by people in the southwest Logan Square/northwest Humboldt Park neighborhood. We’re just beginning this adventure in sustainable living and having fun in the dirt. Please take a look at what we’re doing and maybe even join us.

Hurrah for the Neighborhood! And>> Armitage Bicycle Shop… is he the guy who used to be down the street from your studio, KT?

Armitage Bike Shop is really interesting. It was a hardware store when we moved her about 11 years ago, but the box stores moved in and it couldn’t compete. Rather than just shut down, it morphed into a bike shop. The people there are really nice, and they’ll be using their old hardware store vendors to help us get equipment.

I agree, Jessica. It may not be the fanciest, but there’s no garden better.

We are conducting a survey that includes interviews with urban gardeners. If you are interested in taking part, please contact me with a phone number for a spokesperson for the group. Thank you.

Hi, I found this page through http://greennetchicago.org/gardens/gardenlinks and was hoping you could tell me a little more about it.

I’m trying to find a community garden in my area (Humboldt and Armitage) where I can grow some simple foods like tomatoes and kale and such. Is this that type of garden? If so, how would I go about attempting to be a part of this group?

Thank you in advance for any information you can provide!
