Last month on sptemeber we were talking about 9/11 when the twin towers got destroyed and my teacher said we haved to write something to help the environment and this is what I wrote
In my street there is a community garden and I can Plant flower and fruit and veggies to help the enviornment and also plant trees so that birds and other animals that live on trees have homes
In conclusion in the garden there are amazing workers. And my grade to this paper was an B
bad news-i saw more gangs that the garden last Friday when I had my watering day and one of the lady that was in the gang came up to me to act like nothing happen when the police arrived
My Birthday Passed and I had and had a great time with ALL my Family and I got 100 dollars p.s my b-day was on Nov/19/2011

Hi, Jessica.
To start with, here’s some information about a family that weighed all their trash for a year. They recycled almost ALL of it. This is from Michael’s website. I put the link at the bottom of the email for the article in the East Village Association newsletter.

Why do I say that? Well, let me ask you whether you would be willing to weigh all of your garbage for an entire year. That’s what the Rappe Family did in an effort to see just how much they were stuff they were contributing to an already over-stuffed world. I found out about their excellent adventure from a colleague, who forwarded this article by Scott Rappe, which appeared in the East Village Association newsletter.
What I think is most remarkable about the Rappe Family is how little they add to our waste stream. In his article, Scott says that they separate their “food waste into two streams: raw (peels, cores, rinds, seeds, roots, leaves, wet paper, coffee grounds & filters, etc.) which goes straight to the compost bin, and cooked (plate scrapings, pot scrubbings, moldy cheese and food-tainted paper) which goes to a bokashi fermentation bin, where it pickles for a few weeks before going to the compost bin.”
A bokashi-what?
That’s not all. All of the compost produced is spread on their front and rear yards, and Scott figures that almost 30 percent of their garbage never leaves their property!
In my opinion, Scott, Grace, Matthew (12) and Nicholas (9) are environmental heroes. I might have to buy them a burrito while they’re down here in the beautiful WCPT Showcase Studio. However, they’re vegetarians, so no meat.

On t.v I hear that we need food to survive but some people don’t have anything to eat so we can make a big difference just go to the (Big Help.com) That is one way to help is to send toys to childrens that don’t have any and can really use some here is a sad story A boy told
All I can think about is FOOD I get food but hardly nothing a small rock is bigger than my daily meals.
This boy was skinner than almost a twig we are lucky to have our garden aren’t we.

Jessica, Michael’s radio show is having a food drive. If you want to collect food for it–maybe you and the other kids–we’ll take the food to the donation place.

I know you care, Jessica. There are many reasons that children are hungry. Most of the time, it is not their parents’ fault. Most parents love their children and work hard. But a lot of people in this country and in others can’t find jobs, so they can’t buy enough food. If you and your friends want to help with the food drive, just let me know. It will be on April 15th. I thought we might get some of the kids together before then, though, to make some plans. I am also thinking we might make some bracelets to sell at the sale. Do you think we could meet sometime on Wednesday? Why don’t you check with the others and let me know.

My dad was joking around with a good Idea he said that Monique Emily xavier And I should do a play at the garden with snakes and drinks but we charge people everything should be around $2 emily esai and I had done plays in my backyard and invited people to come and see so we won’t be as nervous to perform in front of people we don’t konow cause anyway we all have been on stage performing in front of lot of people. So we will write a scrip and we will see if you like of if want to make some changes

Well, Jessica, you’re talking about doing the play right before we do the sale. That’s pretty close together. Unless you do the play on the day of the sale. Then you wouldn’t have to worry about snacks because of the bake sale.
